Friends of St Martin’s Committee Member

 

You will be part of the exciting and worthwhile project of setting up a new Friends Group at St Martin’s church which will support the aims of the Parochial Church Council. It will draw together those who care about the church and work to ensure it preservation and work with the wider community. We welcome anyone for this role, those with a Christian faith, members of different faith communities or those who do not belong to any faith

 

Key responsibilities include;

 

  • Contribute to the Management Committee’s role in helping to deliver the St Martin’s Church Business & Activity Plans devised as part of the Hidden Treasures project
  • Help develop the financial sustainability of community activities through fundraising
  • Encourage the take up of volunteering and develop a wide range of volunteering at St Martin’s
  • To ensure St Martin’s and its activities are positively promoted in the community and to support the local community in accessing activities at St Martin’s

     

    We also offer short term volunteering and we are also keen to work with people who may want to help us with specific tasks such as;

     

    • Dedicated research volunteers
    • Learning Volunteers – helping with school and college visits
    • Events and Marketing Volunteers – helping us get our events and activities promoted via print, social media and online
    • Maintenance Volunteers – making the churchyard a welcoming place for people and wildlife and helping with the upkeep of the buildings
